Use Wafeq with Claude or ChatGPT

Connect your AI assistant to Wafeq and ask about your books in plain words.

Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Wafeq and ask things like "Which invoices are overdue?", or have it draft a bill for you. It only sees the organizations you choose, and it can only do what your Wafeq role allows.

You need a Wafeq account and Claude or ChatGPT. Some plans don't allow adding connectors: if you can't find the option, check your plan or ask your admin.

Connect Claude

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Enter the name Wafeq and the URL https://mcp.wafeq.com/mcp, then click Add.
  4. Click Connect next to Wafeq, and sign in to Wafeq.
  5. Approve access in Wafeq.

On Claude Team or Enterprise, an owner adds the connector for everyone first. You then just click Connect.

Connect ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins.
  2. Click +, then Add custom MCP server.
  3. Enter the name Wafeq and the URL https://mcp.wafeq.com/mcp.
  4. Accept the warning and click Create.
  5. Sign in to Wafeq and approve access.

In a ChatGPT workspace, your admin may need to allow custom connectors first.

Approve access

After you sign in, Wafeq asks what to share:

  • Organizations: tick the ones the assistant may use.
  • Allow changes: leave it on to let the assistant create and update records. Untick it if it should only look.

Then click Connect.

You may see Unverified app for Claude or ChatGPT. That's expected: continue if you started the connection yourself and the name matches your app.

Try it

Ask in your own words, for example:

  • "Which customers owe us money, and how overdue are they?"
  • "Show my profit and loss for last quarter."
  • "Prepare my VAT return for this quarter and flag anything that looks wrong."
  • "Draft an invoice to Acme Trading for 10 hours of consulting at 250 AED an hour."
  • "Create a draft expense from this receipt." (attach a photo)

You stay in control

  • The assistant acts as you, with your Wafeq role and permissions.
  • It can't move money. It records entries in Wafeq; it doesn't pay anyone.
  • Before anything that can't be undone, such as sending an invoice, reporting to ZATCA or the FTA, or deleting a record, Wafeq has the assistant show you what will happen and wait for your OK.

Disconnect

  • In Wafeq, open Integrations and click Disconnect next to the assistant.
  • Or remove Wafeq from your connectors in Claude or ChatGPT.

Access also ends after 90 days, or when you change your Wafeq password. Connect again to keep using it.

Something not working?

  • An organization is missing: you didn't tick it. Disconnect, connect again and tick it.
  • It can't create or change anything: Allow changes was off, or your role doesn't allow it. Connect again, or ask your Wafeq admin.
  • It says it hit a limit: wait a minute and try again.

Use Wafeq with Claude or ChatGPT
